Introduction

Thermoablation is a clinical practice that since the 1990s has shown increasing application and validity in the treatment of oncological patients.

Numerous pathologies and oncological work-ups provide for the application of thermoablation in liver disease and beyond, to the point of representing in some cases the treatment of first choice (e.g.: HCC).

In recent years, the incidence of renal tumours has been increasing, partly due to the widespread use of diagnostic methods. This has also led to an increasingly early diagnosis and to patients often having to treat small lesions.

It is now known in the literature that thermoablation of small renal tumours has results comparable to those of surgery and is cited in numerous guidelines as an alternative treatment.

The course aims to increase the sharing of experience from high volume centres such as the European Institute of Oncology in order to disseminate the most innovative treatment techniques. The course is aimed at an audience of physicians with experience of all levels in the field of thermoablation and will focus on the application of microwave ablation in the treatment of renal tumours.
