Thermoablation was intoduced in clinical practice in early 1990s, and since that time the applications in the management of cancer patients increased gradually.
Several patologies and oncological work-ups provide thermoablation for the locoregional treatment of metastasis, in liver, lung, kidney, soft tissues etc. Moreover in some clinical scenario, thermoablation represents nowadays one of the first line treatments (e.g.: HCC).
The course aims to share the experiences of an high-volume center such as the European Institute of Oncology in order to disseminate the most innovative treatment techniques.
The course is adressed to an audience of doctors with low or medium experience in the field of malignant primary liver tumors thermal ablation and will focus on operating principles, techniques, indications and settings of the interventional radiology department.
